Installing with AltStore

AltStore is the cleanest and most reliable way to sideload and automatically refresh Yuki.

  1. 1

    Install AltServer on your computer

Download AltServer for macOS or Windows from altstore.io. Open AltServer and follow its instructions to install Mail plug-in (macOS) or iCloud/iTunes (Windows).

  2. 2

    Install AltStore onto your iPhone

Connect your iPhone to your computer with a USB cable. Click the AltServer icon in your menu bar or system tray, choose Install AltStore, and select your connected iPhone. Enter your Apple ID when prompted.

  3. 3

    Enable Developer Mode (iOS 17+)

On your iPhone, open Settings > Privacy & Security > Developer Mode. Toggle it on and restart your iPhone when prompted. After rebooting, unlock your device and tap Turn On.

  4. 4

    Trust Developer Certificate

Go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management. Under Developer App, tap your Apple ID and tap Trust.

  5. 5

Add the Yuki source and install

On your iPhone, tap the button below and AltStore will ask to add the Yuki source. Or open the Sources tab, tap + and enter https://yukiapp.xyz/altstore.json. Open Yuki from the source and tap Free to install it. AltStore will offer updates as they come out. Understanding the 7-day refresh cycle

Apple allows anyone to install apps on their personal device for free using their personal Apple ID. Under Apple's free developer policy, apps are signed with a certificate that expires after 7 days.

When using AltStore, you do not need to plug in your phone every 7 days. As long as your iPhone and the computer running AltServer are on the same Wi-Fi network, AltStore automatically refreshes Yuki in the background. If you have a paid Apple Developer Account, apps remain signed for 365 days without refreshing.

Alternative Installation Routes

SideStore

Refreshes apps directly on your iPhone using a local WireGuard VPN loopback, eliminating the need for a computer after initial setup.

Sideloadly

A desktop utility for macOS and Windows that allows drag-and-drop IPA installation directly over USB or Wi-Fi.

Xcode / Source

If you have Xcode and a Mac, clone the repository and run ./scripts/install-device.sh to build and deploy straight from source.

Troubleshooting

"Untrusted Developer" error

Open iOS Settings > General > VPN & Device Management. Tap your Apple ID under Developer App and tap Trust.

"Developer Mode is Required" error

On iOS 17+, you must toggle Developer Mode on in Settings > Privacy & Security > Developer Mode, then restart your phone.

"Maximum number of apps reached"

Apple limits free Apple IDs to 3 active sideloaded apps at any time. AltStore counts as one, leaving two slots for apps like Yuki.

App stops opening after 7 days

Your 7-day developer certificate expired. Reconnect to your home Wi-Fi with AltServer running, open AltStore, and tap Refresh All.
